Wedding Wednesday: The Cardbox

Instead of purchasing a card box for our wedding, I decided to make one (surprise, surprise)! lol I love the way it came out and it wasn’t hard at all.

index2

I had two boxes–one larger than the other, and the first thing we did (my mom and I) is cut out a rectangle on the lid of the smaller box. We also cut huge square holes on the bottom of this box as well as on the lid of the larger box so that the cards would just fall all the way through.

IMG_5860IMG_5862IMG_5861IMG_5865We super glued both boxes together, super glued a few layers of burlap and ribbon, and then I added some ribbon to the hole on the top so I could cover up those ugly jagged cut edges!

IMG_5869IMG_5872For the smaller letters, I used green glitter and for the larger letter, I used silver glitter (and sealed both of these with mod podge).

The flower has 4 layers with a rhinestone in the middle, and that’s it! So cute and it went perfectly with our Key West wedding theme! :-)
